Ugh

In two years I have not done ONE piece of art worth posting, worth even bothering with after the initial sketch. I open up photoshop and stare at a blank template, sketch some piece of crap, get really frustrated and close the damn thing out. Then I'll try again with the exact same result. I'll grab a piece of paper and just...sit there. Touch the pen to the paper...take it away...stare at the paper for a long while, touch the pen to it again, groan and put it up. I'll try to sculpt something, and I'll actually make some progress and then it's like every creative energy in me just fizzles out and, as usual, I just stare at it like 'what the hell do I do now?' I haven't FINISHED one single piece that I would actually be proud of since sophomore or junior year of college. It's like--it's like I've just lost a part of me that won't come back, no matter what I do. I'll doodle some meaningless little sketch, but it might as well be chicken scratch. It's not good, not refined, there's no planning or color, it's just a crappy doodle like I'd do when I was ten. I really feel like college just made me not care anymore, kind of like 'why bother?' I honestly wish I'd never gone to college at all. Drawing isn't fun for me anymore. It's a laborious process that crashes and burns before I can even figure out what I'm doing. Even imagining doing it as a job...uggh. I'd grind my teeth down to nubs in sheer frustration. I can't be satisfied with sketches, but haven't got it in me for an actual piece. Art went from personal hobby I did all the time to something that makes me freak out.
That being said, I'm not sure if I'm going to stay on this site. The only thing I really use it for is the journal, and I can accomplish that with a blog. I don't know. If I start a blog, for anyone who's interested, I'll post the link. Until then, I will be M.I.A. Sorry, but whatever was inspiring me is gone. You guys have been great and the only reason I've lurked around here for so long. Thanks everyone!
